The Tcho Factory
We had a chance to visit my favorite chocolate manufacturer Tcho, a couple of weeks ago. Arriving at the factory
is unmistakable because their grinders produce the most amazing chocolaty smell. Just follow your nose, it won't
misguide you in anyway on this tour. That and they did a great job setting up tour signs but even a blind person
would find the door with ease.
Their grinders run between 48-72 hours (about 3 days) straight to produce 2,200 gallons (about 8327.9 L) of chocolate.
These machines are very loud, so be ready to have a hard time talking or listening to the tour guide. After that we got
to see where the chocolate gets tempered and then molded into a final product.
What Tcho chocolate do we use?
Currently we're using their 66% dark chocolate called Sweet & Sassy. We also are trying out the Oat My Gawd milk
chocolate which is 100% plant based. It is like eating a tasty salad, so it must be healthy, right?
So, if you’re in California near Berkley you should take some time and check out the Tcho factory tour.
